"The police officers were trained to deal with various types of cybercrimes, their investigation and technical knowledge about the latest technology used to solve such cases. The policemen also got tips on cybercrime awareness course so that they could alert the common people about these types of crimes. Also, 201 judicial officers and 188 prosecution officials were trained to submit proper evidence in the court," Kumar said.
The Union home ministry, under its Cybercrime Prevention against Women and Children scheme, has allotted over Rs 65 lakh since the financial year 2017-18 to provide training to police.
"Regular online and offline seminars and presentations are being organized so that the police officers could be well aware of the software and hardware installed at the 44 cyber police stations in the state," Kumar said.
He added, "The state government has started training two policemen/data entry operators posted at each police station for speedy investigation of cyber cases. The aim is to save the hard-earned money of the people. The government provides conventional training to the police to investigate normal criminal cases, economic offence cases and other social crimes. But in this modern era, there's a need to give updated cyber security training to all policemen."
