Hi

What's the biggest thing you dislike about bioinformatics?

bioinformatics

Genomic intervals on the negative DNA strand.

Zero and one-based file formats.

It is easier to get results compared to wet-lab experiments, which I think makes some people careless when it comes to interpretation of bioinformatics results/predictions. To be fair, this may not be the fault of bioinformatics, but rather people lacking biological knowledge.

Wetlab-focused supervisors planning/proposing a project.

Lack of documentation/ poorly documented tools, ambiguous error. (More of a developer issue than Bioinformatics one)

GFF(3) 🙂

Data cleaning/munging.

How easy it is to make mistakes that could change your biological interpretations.

Battling to work with the meneagerie of different file formats, tools and workflows which appear to be designed to be as incompatible as possible.

Both a blessing and a curse: your knowledge and expertise is obsolete on a daily basis.

Python!

I'll get my coat 😉

accessibility. I always pictured easy data sharing but its a nightmare full of red tape. Also costs of computation!

the part of filters

The valuable courses which are badly in need but expensive.
