The Center for Human Identification at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTCHI), located at Fort Worth, Texas, is globally recognized as a leader in forensic genomics. With solid funding support from the State of Texas and various Federal Government agencies, UNTCHI is a resource for international and national legal systems, provides forensic genetic and anthropological examinations for criminal casework and missing persons identification, and develops and manages of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) for the US Department of Justice. UNTCHI is dedicated to the training of students, postdoctoral fellows, and professionals in various aspects of genomics and maintains an active, innovative research program for genomic solutions. The Center for Human Identification at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire Research Scientists to join our team. The position is expected to design and develop software and methodologies to perform algorithmic and statistical analyses on genomic data using leading-edge DNA sequencing technologies and computational methods.
We are accepting applications from talented and enthusiastic candidates who are interested in an integrated and interdisciplinary research laboratory system.
The applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent. Applicants with a background in computer science, data science, bioinformatics, genomics, pharmacogenomics, microbial genomics, or human disease research will be preferentially considered. Candidates holding a degree in general biomedical sciences/life sciences are also welcome to apply.
Perform bioinformatics related research and develop relevant software programs under the supervision of the faculty in UNTCHI. Conduct research to develop methodologies for biomedical applications. Analyzing data and presenting findings to the scientific audience and general public. Write and publish articles in scientific journals
Ph.D. degree and two (2) years of related research experience.
