I am trying to use the BLASTp command line in Biopython to search the swissprot database remotely.
I am receiving the following error:
Non-zero return code 255 from '/Users/ncbi/blast/bin/blastp -out GI_A0A0K8P6T7_results/my_blast.xml -outfmt 5 -query GI_A0A0K8P6T7_results/accession -db swissprot -remote', message 'Warning: (302.10) [blastp] [SOCK::gethostbyaddr] Got "localhost" for local host address'
my code is as follows:
>blastp_cline = NcbiblastpCommandline(cmd=blast_exe, query=directory+"/accession", db="swissprot", remote=True, out=directory+"/my_blast.xml", outfmt=5) >blastp_cline()
If I change the database to 'nr', I receive the same error message but with error code 2, which indicates an error with the BLAST database.
I really cannot see any errors in my code, and I have googled it but found no similar error, does anyone have any ideas what this might be?
