Job:Research assistant/postdoc in computational biology/bioinformatics (UMass Medical, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA)


We are looking for highly motivated research assistants (B.S. or M.S. degree), or post-doctoral fellows (Ph.D. degree) with interests and backgrounds in computational biology, bioinformatics, quantitative genetics/ genomics, or other quantitative sciences, to join our young team! Our group works on statistical and computational methods development in genomics and stem cell biology to understand complex neurological diseases (Alzheimer's Disease, autism).

The ideal candidate(s) will have experience in, or have the background and drive to become proficient in:

  • DNA sequence analyses (e.g. alignment, variant calling, BLAT)
  • RNA sequence analyses (for bulk or single-cell RNA sequencing)
  • other computational analyses for biological problems (e.g. statistical genetics, machine learning)

Proficiency in programming (Python/Perl, R, C/C++) is necessary.
