Detection of bacterial SNP using regular PCR primers
I have two bacterial strains that only differ from several SNPs in their genomes.
I am wondering if designing specific primer sequences containing the SNP mutation will be enough to differentiate the two strains using regular PCR?
I have heard of locked nucleic acid oligonucleotides but I would rather use regular PCR if possible.
Thank you in advance for you much appreciated help and advices!
