Overview:
A bioinformatics postdoc position and a cardiovascular postdoc position in the laboratory of Dr. Kaifu Chen is available immediately. The major research interest in the lab is combining computational and biological techniques to understand gene expression regulation in cardiovascular cell differentiation, development and diseases. Dr. Chen is an Endowed Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School (#1 medical school ranked by U. S. News & World Report) and the Director of Computational Biology Program in the Department of Cardiology at Boston Children's Hospital(#1 children's hospital ranked by U. S. News & World Report). The Lab is located at the center of the Harvard Longwood Medical Area. Boston Children's Hospital is a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Both Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital offer rich and dynamic research environments. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to study three-dimensional chromatin conformation, RNA methylation, and cell identity regulation at single-cell level. The position will have salary commensurate with training and experience.

Responsibilities:
• Bioinformatics techniques to interpret genomic data.
• Single cell sequencing to study cell identity regulation.
• High throughput profiling of RNA methylation, RNA binding proteins, and ribosome positioning to study post transcriptional regulation of gene expression.
• Hi-C, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and RNA-seq to study epigenetic regulation of transcription.
• Collaborations between bioinformatician, biologist and clinician to leverage research output, innovation, and significance.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a training in area related to either bioinformatics or cardiovascular biology. Experiences with cardiovascular research, epigenomic experiments, and single cell techniques, or analysis of multiple high dimension data sets will be a strong plus. Candidates with a PhD or master’s degree in biology, medicine, genomics, bioinformatics, computer sciences, mathematics, statistics, physics, or other related area are encouraged to apply.

Commitment to Diversity:
We are committed to cultivating a diverse workplace. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, gender identity, color, religion, age, disability, or national origin. We encourage individuals with diverse backgrounds to apply.
