JOB DESCRIPTION: We are recruiting for a Senior Engineer Electroporation to join our team. This role will be attached to our Plymouth, MN location. You will be responsible for leadership of therapy and technology development for electroporation cardiac ablation. In this role, you will provide guidance for the therapy, design, and development of novel ablation products by influencing system definition through translation of customer needs into product requirements, system-level verification, and validation planning, and work closely with senior management to establish product development goals, while ensuring market compatibility. This role impacts research, technology and product development, system behavior, and includes engaging in a consultative capacity on therapy and technology.
Serve as internal subject matter expert on electroporation therapy and technology
Formulates and implements research and development programs required to support profitable growth.
Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources to ensure intellectual property is generated and appropriately protected.
Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources (clinical, regulatory, customers, etc.) to ensure development programs meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Provides technical assistance for diagnosing design and process development issues.
Keeps senior management team informed of therapy/design/development progress and issues.
Lead/support pre-clinical and clinical evaluations
Presents results from studies to peers, management, and customers.
Authors reports, including scientific abstracts and manuscripts.
Expertise should go beyond features and benefits, focusing also on design, development, clinical application, and competitive positioning
Occasional interface with field personnel and practitioners potentially including key opinion leaders (partnering with clinical, marketing, technical support, and training/education teams)
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physical or Biological Science, and/or a related discipline
3 years of experience in medical device development and/or research experience, including demonstrated experience in electroporation technology research, experimentation, and publication
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
Proven leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Ability to travel approximately 20 PERCENT , including internationally
Masters and/or PhD degree in an Engineering, Scientific, or medical field
Previous experience in electrophysiology and/or cardiac rhythm management (pacing and defibrillation)
Demonstrated understanding of ISO 13485 and CFR 820.30
Have previously lead R&D project(s)
Experience working at a system level (hardware, software, delivery system)
