The third phase of the world's biggest inoculation drive began on May 1 and will cover all adults aged 18 and above. All eligible candidates can book their slots to get the vaccine against COVID-19 on the government's CoWIN portal, the Aarogya Setu app which was launched by the government last year for tracking and tracing COVID-19 positive people, and the UMANG app.

How to register for vaccination

The registrations can be done online by booking appointments through the CoWIN portal ( Click on the 'Register/Sign in Yourself' tab. You can also click on 'Register through Aarogya Setu'. There is no authorised mobile app for registering except Aarogya Setu. Alternatively, you can register for vaccination through the Aarogya Setu App.

These are the seven photo identity documents that the government has listed to be used for online registration on the CO-WIN app

1. Aadhaar Card

2. Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC)

3. Passport

4. Driving License

5. PAN Card

6. NPR Smart Card

7. Pension Document with photograph

Other than this, today we look into the documents required to be carried along with you to the vaccination centres while getting inoculated.

Five documents to carry with you

For address proof, you need to carry your Aadhaar Card along with you to the vaccine centre.

For proof of date of birth, you need to carry your birth certificate or matriculation certificate along with you.

You have to carry your recent negative RT-PCR test report along with you while you go to get yourself inoculated.

You must carry a doctor's report of your latest health condition with you.

A simplified one-page certificate showing all the prioritised co-morbid conditions can be downloaded from the beneficiary portal, which they would have to be signed by a registered medical practitioner. The certificate can either be uploaded on Co-WIN 2.0 by the beneficiary or the beneficiary can carry self-registering or a hard copy to the CVC.
